LEROY X AND THE X-CITATIONS
by C.R. Cramp

LeRoy X graphicNot sure what I can say about Leroy X and the X-citations. They evolved out of, and to us fans, it was a similar band to Jonny III partly because LeRoy had been one of the drummers, and guitarist Kenny Vaughan was in the band. But LeRoy was a great showman as a singer and we absolutely loved them. The Varve played their first gig with them.

In the early eighties, singles were released by both Kenny Vaughan and Leroy on Denver's Pi Fi label. The single released under the moniker 'Leroy's Dance Band' received some great reviews.

Below is an article conducted by La Dolce Vita, the fanzine of Jo Ann Gogue (Sieger) singer for The Guys and The Varve.
